Role - Project Manager
Location - Scotland
Mint Selection are partnered with a leading developer who are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of an onshore wind farm project in Scotland from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering onshore wind projects within the UK, including preconstruction phases, and possess excellent stakeholder management skills. This role requires expertise in managing complex schedules and budgets while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining high-quality standards.
Scope of work:
Project Delivery: Oversee all phases of the onshore wind project, including preconstruction, planning, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Preconstruction Leadership: Manage preconstruction activities, including site feasibility assessments, permitting processes, design development, and contractor engagement.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, landowners, local communities, contractors, and internal teams.
Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and control the project budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones during both preconstruction and construction phases.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly during the preconstruction stage, to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, safety, and permitting regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams across preconstruction and construction phases, fostering collaboration and accountability to achieve project objectives.
Procurement: Manage contract negotiations and oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services in alignment with project needs and budget.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Sustainability: Champion sustainable practices and community engagement to ensure a positive impact on the local environment and community.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, project management, or a related field.
Proven experience delivering onshore wind farm projects in the UK, including managing preconstruction phases.
Familiarity with permitting processes, environmental assessments, and compliance requirements specific to the UK’s renewable energy sector.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
This role will be on an initial 12 month contract, outside IR35 with a hybrid working model.
