  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop and refine quantitative models and trading algorithms tailored to flexible generation and storage assets.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of energy market trends, supply & demand dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitor strategies to inform trading decisions.

  • Monitor market conditions in real-time and identify opportunities for arbitrage, hedging, and portfolio optimisation.

  • Develop and maintain robust backtesting frameworks to evaluate the performance of trading strategies and algorithms under various market scenarios.

  • Implement sophisticated risk management techniques to mitigate market, operational, and financial risks associated with trading activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MFE, PhD) preferred.

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in energy trading, quantitative trading, or a related field, preferably within the energy sector.

  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis, statistical modelling, and programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools.

  • Experience with time-series analysis, machine-learning techniques, and algorithmic trading strategies.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesise complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
