Role - Civil Site Manager
Location - Cowley, Oxford
We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to lead the delivery of a 1.5km cable route connecting to a National Grid substation, forming part of a BESS project. This role requires strong expertise in managing civil works and working closely with Independent Connection Providers.
Scope of work:
· Oversee all civil construction activities for the cable route and substation connection.
· Coordinate and manage works involving ICPs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
· Enforce adherence to National Grid specifications, health and safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
· Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards, address technical issues, and maintain project timelines.
· Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and delivery.
· Monitor resources, budgets, and progress, reporting on key milestones and potential risks.
Experience to be considered:
· SMSTS or SSSTS
· CSCS
· First Aid
· Proven experience managing civil construction projects, ideally in the energy or utility sectors.
· Strong knowledge of ICPs and their role in utility projects.
· Familiarity with National Grid standards and substation infrastructure.
· Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
· Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
This role will be an initial 4-month contract and LTD or CIS.
