Are you enthusiastic about driving change toward a carbon-neutral future and making a positive impact on our planet?

Are you interested in working for a highly successful renewable energy asset developer and operator with the ambition of growing their portfolio by over 2.5GW in the next 2-3 years?

If so, read on….

We are partnered with a dynamic and well-funded renewable energy company that develops, constructs, and operates a range of assets including Solar, offshore and onshore wind projects. Within their portfolio, they currently operate over 700MW of assets and are in hyper-growth mode with the ambition to grow this to over 2GW by the end of 2025.

Within this role, you will be taking full ownership of the development activities for new wind farms in Scotland taking these from the preparation of planning applications through grid connections to construction handover. You will be required to collaborate with internal and external parties including land experts, technical teams, and local authorities.

You will be tasked with:

  • Prepare and submit planning applications for new land-based wind energy projects in Scotland (including applications for tip height extensions and access roads).

  • Represent the company in discussions with planning authorities and public consultations.

  • Collaborate with a network of expert advisors.

  • Fulfil pre-construction planning conditions for the projects, collaborating with advisors and contractors as needed.

  • Advance initial grid works and coordinate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission Owners (TOs) along with technical experts.

  • Engage with National Air Traffic Services (NATS) and airport authorities to establish radar mitigation agreements.

  • Collaborate with land managers and land agents to identify and execute all necessary land agreements.

  • Monitor overall project progress and ensure development activities adhere to established timelines and budgets.

  • Facilitate a smooth transition of projects to the Construction team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role related to the development/delivery of onshore wind projects in Scotland.

  • Expertise in planning application processes for land-based wind farms in Scotland.

  • Strong knowledge of the connection process for new generation projects to the distribution and transmission networks.

  • Experience dealing with Radar mitigation.

  • Commercial mindset and desire to learn.

  • Willingness to travel when and as required including to the head office

If you're someone driven by ambition and believe you have what it takes to thrive in this position, we'd love to hear from you! Submit your CV or reach out to Gary O'Brien (g.obrien@mintselection.com) for an informal chat about this exciting opportunity.
